The Best Conference For Black College Football is…

The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference.

More than 57 percent of people who responded to the poll voted in favor of the MEAC as the best conference for black college football. To be honest, I would’ve guessed that the SWAC would’ve won this thing overwhelmingly, but it shows that the MEAC might have a little more swag in marketing and exposure than many of us believe.

Here are the results of the poll, which was open for thirty days of open voting.

The SWAC did come in a rather distant second, followed by the SIAC and rounded out with the CIAA. It’s not surprising that the two Division II conferences got a small amount of votes, but given that attendance numbers and revenues for SWAC teams are much higher than a lot of mid-major conferences across the country, shouldn’t it have been a little closer?

Either way, congratulations to the MEAC conference.
