You could classify the 2008 MEAC football season as one of many surprises. It kicked off with Joe Taylor’s defection down south, and the subsequent renaissance of FAMU Rattler football. It continued with North Carolina A&T winning a few games, and the Bethune-Cookman Wildcats making an unexpected run for the conference crown.

A lot of people left Thursday’s game between Grambling State and Texas Southern very unhappy. Not just becasue the Tigers beat the brakes off of TSU, but because Texas Southern won the halftime showdown by default. As in, Grambling’s band didn’t show up.
