Closing Arguments Begin in North Carolina Central Student Murder Trial
Closing arguments have begun in the case of Shannon Crawley, the woman charged with the 2007 murder of North Carolina Central University student Denita Smith.
Smith was found shot to death outside Campus Crossings apartments in Durham.
Crawley worked as a 911 dispatcher in Guilford County and lived just one block from Smith’s fiancee, a Greensboro police officer.
According to court documents, he told investigators Crawley had been stalking him before Smith’s murder.
