Harvard Seeking to Join Morehouse in Iran Divestment Movement

Harvard University students are seeking to join Morehouse College as the only two collegiate student bodies  in the United States to publicly call for a university-wide divestment from companies conducting business with Iran.

The student-led campaign calls for the Ivy League school to divest from companies conducting more than $20 million in business with Iran’s energy sector.

“This divestment is in recognition that those funds help to fund Iran’s illicit nuclear program,” said a statement from the group.

The Morehouse Student Government Association called for a divestment campaign in during the Fall 2009 semester.
