Kentucky State Gunman Arrested, No One Harmed in Incident
A man who brandished a handgun in a Kentucky State University computer lab and later barricaded himself in an empty room in the campus student center was arrested without incident earlier today, according to campus officials.
Frankfort Police arrested Christopher Sims, 23, of Louisville, without incident at 4:21 p.m.
Frankfort Police spokesman Maj. Fred Deaton said Sims pointed a black, semi-automatic handgun at students in a threatening way and swore, but did not fire any shots. It is unclear if Sims is a student at KSU.
KSU spokeswoman Felicia Lewis said no students were hurt in the incident.
“There is no longer a threat to public safety,” she told The State Journal.
