Former Florida A&M Marching 100 Director Julian White told the Tallahassee Democrat yesterday that a fall reinstatement for the suspended band may be “too soon.” White retired as director of the band amidst ongoing review into the hazing death of Marching 100 drum major Robert Champion, and allegations that some persons charged with the death were not eligible to perform with the band at the time of the death.
“In all honesty, this fall may be too soon,” White said in an interview Friday with the Tallahassee Democrat. “Even though it was not the majority of the band members involved, the lesson needs to be really implemented and stressed that conduct is more important than the product of marching and entertaining.” (USA Today)
