Savannah State Names Sterling Steward Jr. New Athletic Director

Sterling Steward, Jr. has been announced as the new Athletic Director at Savannah State University.
Steward worked at Mississippi Valley state, Kentucky State, Eastern Oregon and Xavier of New Orleans and Alabama State before coming to Savannah State.

UDC Men’s Basketball to Participate in 2K Sports Classic

Official match-ups for the 2K Sports Classic Benefiting Coaches vs. Cancer were announced today. UDC Men’s Basketball will take on Indiana-Kokomo Sunday, November 20 at 3:30 PM ET at the Athletics-Recreation Center in Valparaiso, IN.
St. John’s, Arizona, Texas A&M, and Mississippi State will serve as the four Regional Round hosts of the 17th annual 2K Sports Classic with the event opening the college basketball season on Nov. 7. Each will play on campus before advancing to the Championship Rounds, Nov. 17-18, at New York’s Madison Square Garden.

Alabama A&M Could Be at Season’s Tipping Point

After back-to-back losses to start the season followed by two consecutive victories, the Alabama A&M Bulldogs have reached a potential tipping point with Saturday’s game against Arkansas-Pine Bluff.
“We’re on that seesaw right now where we could teeter either way,” A&M coach Anthony Jones said. “We know what it took to win these two games in a row, and we also know what happened when we lost two in a row. So we have to be focused and ready to play. If we’re not prepared, we can fall off anytime.”
