A Morgan State University alumna was named chief of the U.S. Capitol Police days after the deadly siege on the nation’s Capitol complex spurred its acting chief to resign following the department’s faltering.
After Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi called on former Chief Steven Sudd to step down from his position, he submitted his resignation, saying it would be effective Jan. 16. The Southern University Board of Supervisors last week approved the appointment of James H. Ammons Jr. as the permanent chancellor of Southern University at New Orleans (SUNO). The appointment comes at the recommendation of System President-Chancellor Ray L. Some of the most legendary groups are Florida A&M University’s Marching 100, Texas Southern University’s Ocean of Soul, and the Tennessee State University Aristocrat of Bands.
